Anastacia, Villa Manin July 12th, 2012

Chicago-born Anastacia (also known as Anastacia Lyn Newkirk) performed in front of about 5,000 fans in the beautiful Villa Manin setting located near Udine (as Anastacia herself added, a villa that once also hosted Napoleon Bonaparte).

Thanks to the folks at Azalea Promotion this magnificent white 44 year-old singer (with the voice of an Afro-American) captivated fans of all ages from as far away as Austria and nearby Slovenia with her wonderful warm smile and energy, something which in the past has also convinced other famous singers to perform with her, such as Sir Elton John (memorable is their duet at Madison Square Garden of Sir Elton’s song, “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting”) and Italy’s Eros Ramazzotti and their wonderful romantic ballad, “I Belong To You” (“Il Ritmo Della Passione”) which was a number 1 hit in Germany, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland and a huge hit throughout continental Europe. In 2005, Anastacia was recognized for worldwide sales of over 20 million.

Nicknamed "the little lady with the big voice", Anastacia is known for her powerful soul voice and at only 5 feet 2 inches (or 1m57) can still pack quite the mean punch indeed.

A pity though that her Villa Manin concert only consisted of a mere 13 songs for not even a 90 minute performance.  Indeed a far cry from an Idol or Springsteen performance (her stage was also pretty bare too)! With an extraordinary voice such as hers (hats off to Anastacia for also having successfully defeated breast cancer which she mentioned during her concert) at least 20 songs would have been just perfect for the splendid evening and setting of the Villa Manin.
